CENTRAL PARK PUMPKIN FESTIVAL

Central Park Band Shell - enter park at 72nd Street and walk on through!

Princess Katie & Racer Steve Concert starts at 12 pm.
Event runs from 12 - 8 pm.

Get a free pumpkin, see a puppet show, lots of entertainment, play some games and see the largest collection of pumpkins in New York City! At night, watch as all the pumpkins are illuminated!

PRINCESS KATIE SAYS: I LOVE HALLOWEEN!

Dear Diary:

First of all, today's concert was incredible. What a surprise...blindfolded I entered the packed theatre, we sang, hit a pinata until neon glow sticks fell out for all the kids, we watched me open some pretty crazy presents from the band, danced, laughed and screamed "Hooray!" whenever Racer Steve held up the giant sign. Things got crazy when they rolled in the gigantic soccer ball I found from our song, "It's Not Mine."

The kids in the peanut gallery of the theatre got pom poms in all different colors, tattoos and gorgeous autographed pictures of all the band members. Hint Water supplied the delicious fruity water and between all the balloons, confetti, streamers and favors for the kids, I'm thinking everyone was pretty worn out after all was said and done. Hey, if you were at the concert, please send me pictures and I'll be sure to post them!

Halloween is coming and I'm excited. This month we're doing a lot of shows, so check the site for updates.

Hint Water Rocks at Princess Katie & Racer Steve Concerts!

Hey! It's Racer Steve taking over Princess Katie's Diary!

We're so royally psyched because the ultra-cool essence water, Hint Water, is sponsoring our Helen Mills Theatre Concert Series. The first of which is on September 29th for Princess Katie's Surprise Birthday Bash Concert (tickets: www.princessracer.com)!

What does this mean to the tot rockers attending the concert? Well, our latest new live video is up on YouTube! It's a video from our June 30th Central Park show where we're playing "Sid The Bully." It was hot, hot, hot and many of the fans were sitting along the sides in the shade, but many were still out front square dancin'. Click the title above to see it!

Thanks to the crowd who braved the muggy, New York humidity yesterday to enjoy our Bubble Concert in Union Square. It was great seeing some faces from Central Park and Bleecker Park. Hey, why don't you rock out with us at Bleecker Park in NYC on Thursday? We're doing 2 free shows at 3 pm and then 4 pm as part of the MakeMusic NY! celebration. All around the world, musicians are holding free concerts for everyone in the streets on June 21st! Click the title of this post for details on MakeMusic NY!

Bleecker Park is located at 11th and Hudson Streets in the West Village.

On to other news...yesterday Racer Steve and I performed three concerts in 2 different hospitals for kids who aren't feeling so well. Believe me, they definitely felt a lot better after they were singing and shaking to the music. Music isn't medicine, but it sure acts like it sometimes!

They were really brave kids from the Hassenfeld Children's Center, Tisch and the Rusk Institute. We had such a great time because we could see how much fun they were having. The kids didn't know we were coming so the concerts were a surprise.

ISN'T THIS BRILLIANT?

Dear Diary:

Hi! I'm proud to say that I know the people who started this organization. They're a young, very cool couple from NYC with two beautiful, healthy little girls who spend their time helping children who aren't fortunate enough to be blessed with perfect health. Good people, huh?

I've chosen to write about this organization for many reasons, but mainly because the idea for our band, Princess Katie & Racer Steve sprung up unexpectedly as a result of our volunteer visits to kids in hospitals. For several years now, Racer Steve and I have been making visits to kids in hospitals. Initially, we dressed up as popular TV and movie characters and now, because we wanted to start performing original music for them, we created own characters! So, you never know what can come out of doing something kind for someone else. I never, ever expected to be singing, never mind being in a band.

So, as a result, I know firsthand what a tremendous impact a little entertainment, especially music, is for sick children in hospitals. That's why we're so impressed with The Kids Rock Organization.

"The Kids Rock! hopes to make a small difference in the lives of uninsured children diagnosed with cancer by donating CD players and MP3 players through the clinics where they are treated. We as musicians and music lovers can help make this tough experience a lot easier by giving them some entertainment while they go through the treatments. Something to take their minds off the Chemotherapy and Radiation, something to remind them they are still kids!

In the future The Kids Rock! hopes to take the fun to bigger places, such as free trips to concerts, meeting the performers and even buying instruments for the kids who dream of being stars themselves. The Kids Rock!"
