Well, mainly because every single cotton pickin' time we perform there the crowds go nuts clapping, dancing and singing. I mean, these people are out for an incredible time whenever they leave their homes. My kind of people. Seriously.

For me, summer is the best time of year.  I really, really, really love playing outdoors, especially when the weather is on our side.  We're back again this year for Union Square Park's Summer in the Square Kids' Series!

This is a free, outdoor concert, so we encourage everyone to make it!

Revved Up & Ready To Rock! Video Librarian Review

Married performers Katie O'Sullivan-Borne (Princess Katie) and Steve Borne (Racer Steve) bring a quirky combo of fairy-tale ambience, puppets, skits, animation, and upbeat, positive music to this live concert for children.  Featuring Princess on vocals, Racer on guitar, "Crash" and "Space" on drums and bass, and a trio of "Merry Horn Players from the Woods, " the 10-song set in Revved Up *& Ready to Rock! includes the B-52's-style "Tell Them How You Feel" dealing with emotions, funk-based "Hot Shot" about making friends, "Hey Claire" on sharing, and the rock-ishi "Jeans!"  In addition to the tunes, the festivities include visits from puppet assistant West and dragon Peyton, dancing (two adults from the audience break into a spirited swing routine during "Holidays!"_, and clips of cartoon versions of the main duo.  The Bornes, who started out doing their routine for kids at hospitals across NYC, put on a cheerful, high-energy show that appears to be a real hit with the young audience.  DVD extras include a behind-the-scenes look at the band and a "Jeans!" animated music video.  Recommended.

Valley Kids Review of Revved Up & Ready To Rock!

Princess Katie & Racer - Steve Revved Up & Ready to Rock DVD

Princess Katie & Racer Steve are good on CD, but kids go nuts seeing them live.  They put on a goofy and fun show, complete with the titular costumes, silly jokes, puppets, and more and this live concert DVD does a nice job of capturing the shows' energy.  It's got most of the band's best songs (''Go Go Go,'' ''Tell Them How You Feel,'' etc.), lots of between-song banter with Katie (who has a background in improv theater) and the rest of the band, and an even better musical performance than usual, complete with a very tight horn section.
