PROVIDENCE PAC! PRINCESS KATIE & RACER STEVE "KIDS ROCK!" TOUR

PKRS IN "KIDS ROCK!
January 31st @ 2 pm
Providence Performing Arts Center
Tickets by clicking the title of this post!

We are very excited to perform for the first time in Rhode Island as part of our "Kids Rock!" Tour.

We're bringing our popular kiddie rock concerts straight from the Kingdom out on the road, giving kids (and their adoring adults) the chance to experience their high-energy, ultra-entertaining and seriously unique live show!
Sterling musicianship, punctuated with plenty of laughter and audience participation, make this show as much of an event as it is a concert.

Cool Mom Picks Says, "Princess Katie Represents The Feisty Royalty Everywhere!"

For my niece's first Christmas, I got her a big collection of DVDs from great kindie rock artists, hoping it would help keep her away from all that awful kids' music as she got older. But I never really think to check our favorite musicians' websites for holiday gift ideas. And then I did. And now I'm glad. Because the Princess Katie and Racer Steve shop is pretty cool.

There are holiday gift packs for fans of the band's bouncy kids music, but what I really like are the
Feisty Princess t-shirts which I know quite a few girls would get a kick out of. Pair a Feisty Princess shirt with the terrific 2008 Fast & Feisty CD and you've got a thoughtful gift for your favorite little girl who doesn't conform to the rules laid out in the official princess handbook. -Liz

The Princess Katie & Racer Steve KIDSTOCK Show - WestonCTMoms

"Mark your calendars for Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 2-4 pm! If you missed Princess Katie and Racer Steve at the Levitt Pavilion this summer, you can catch them at Weston’s Kidstock at the Intermediate School. Tickets are $12 (advanced) and $15 (at the door).

Moms, your kids will love them. Actually, I think you will start bopping around, too! At the kidstock concert this year, one cool mom did “the robot” on stage and at Levitt Pavilion, Princess Katie led a parade of excited, hopping kids all around the picnic area (very interactive show!).

At the end of the show, the kids even got to meet the dynamic duo and the rest of the band. My daughter’s Halloween costumes (princess rock star) this year were heavily influenced by Princess Katie. Don’t miss this show!!!

Visit their website and follow them on twitter @KidsRockMusic."

HALLOWEEN EVENTS WITH PRINCESS KATIE & RACER STEVE

OCTOBER 31st - HALLOWEEN
RAIN DATE: Nov. 1st

10:30 am - Parade & Concert
Spend Halloween with Princess Katie & Racer Steve who are leading the children's Halloween parade down Greenwich Ave and then end up at Washington Market Park where they'll perform a more cool, less creepy concert!
This year’s Washington Market Park parade will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Halloween. The festivities will include a live band and pony rides, and the parade will be led by Princess Katie and Racer Steve, a small children’s band. The Friends of Washington Market Park have a parade permit for Greenwich St. between the southern side of Greenwich and North Moore Sts.

The main entrance of the park at Duane St. is currently closed due to the construction of a new comfort station, so the children will march down Greenwich St. into the temporary park entrance at Reade St. The staff at Zucker’s Bagels will be waiting for them when they’re done marching, dressed up and giving away candy bags and mini chocolate bagels. The folks at Tribeca Treats at 94 Reade St. will also be giving out candy, and the Cosmopolitan Cafe on W. Broadway is holding a free apple festival from 2 p.m. until dark, where kids can enjoy candy apples and apple cider donuts, learn to press apples with a 150-year-old press, and go apple bobbing.

AOL: Princess Katie & Racer Steve: Kids' Music Parents Love

Children love repetition. They'll read the same books, watch the same movies, and listen to the same song over and over and over again, as many times as their parents will allow. And some of the stuff kids love is absolutely insufferable -- but you play it for them anyway, because you love them and it makes them happy.

If you're one Barney singalong away from losing your mind, it's time to get to know
Princess Katie & Racer Steve. The duo is a wonderful breath of fresh air in the world of children's entertainment.

Princess Katie & Racer Steve Album ArtThe couple got their start as a band when Katie enlisted Steve to perform with her in New York hospitals and events for at-risk kids. Though they'd never been songwriters, those kids inspired the duo to create something spectacular.

When you put Princess Katie & Racer Steve's
Songs for the Coolest Kids or Fast & Feisty in your CD player, you won't hear the usual high-pitched vocals and circus soundtrack noise that you find on most kids' albums. Princess Katie sings in an actual human voice -- often compared to Natalie Merchant -- while husband Racer Steve rocks a guitar like the big boys. Princess Katie & Racer Steve are far more than simply bearable for parents -- you'll probably love them as much as your kids do.

Repetition is no problem with the Princess Katie & Racer Steve albums, because each album offers up a great mix of different styles, including country, rock, rap, jazz, and Latin-inspired tunes. The sound is hip and mature, and the lyrics are packed with positive messages for kids. Princess Katie & Racer Steve's songs encourage kids to use their imaginations, always try their hardest, be kind and keep a positive attitude.

The Princess Katie & Racer Steve live show is an experience that children and parents alike will enjoy -- a high energy, family-friendly rock and roll show. The band will be on tour in early 2010 to promote their upcoming album,
Tiny Cool, scheduled for a February 16 release. Here's a list of confirmed tour dates -- see if Katie & Steve are coming to your town:

- January 17th at the Providence PAC in Providence, RI
- February 6th at the Durham Performing Arts Center in Durham, NC
- February 18th at the Stocker Center in Elyria, Ohio
- February 20th at the Pasant Theater in East Lansing, MI
- February 21st at the Music Hall in Detroit, MI
- February 27th at the Moore Theater in Seattle, WA
- March 20th at the Lebanon Opera House in Lebanon, NH

If you can't get to one of these shows, you can still enjoy the live Princess Katie & Racer Steve experience with their live concert DVD,
Revved Up and Ready to Rock! These albums and this DVD will make a great gift for any family. Don't forget to check back in February for Tiny Cool.

PRINCESS KATIE & RACER STEVE CD/DVD DRIVE - Kiddie Rockers Unite 2009!

Hey, kiddie rockers! On October 8th, Princess Katie & Racer Steve are performing at the NYC Ronald McDonald House and want to know if any of you wish to donate a cd/dvd or whatever for us to give out after the performance. In addition, any extras will be donated to kids in foster care or at one of our hospital visits.

As we all know, many kids will never get to see a live concert or even be exposed to some of the fantastic kiddie rock that is out there today. I don't think anyone needs to hear how much of an impact some great music can make on a child's life.

If you are interested, you can email us at info AT princessracer.com and we will send you our address.

Thanks, guys!

AUGUST 8TH - PRINCESS KATIE & RACER STEVE - Bethlehem, PA - MUSIKFEST & THE MORNING CALL

We'll be performing 2 shows in Bethlehem, PA this weekend on Saturday! We'll be performing two shows at 1:30 pm & 4:30 pm.
The area in which we're playing is called Banana Island!

READ THE MORNING CALL'S ARTICLE FEATURING PRINCESS KATIE & RACER STEVE
BY CLICKING THE TITLE OF THIS POST!

"Part cartoon characters and part high-energy pop band, married couple, Princess Katie &Racer Steve debut at Musikfest Saturday with a show that combines puppets, costumes and animation with every type of musical style you can imagine.

Princess Katie & Racer Steve are one of the highlights of Musikfest's kids' performers and the couple and their band will perform at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. at Banana Island.

Katie, whose background is in improvisational comedy, says she and Steve were inspired to start the band after dressing up as SpongeBob and
Spider-Man to cheer up kids at a children's hospital.

''We really got hooked,'' Katie says.

The duo decided to channel their own inner children and began dressing as their favorite characters. Katie discovered she had a natural singing voice and Steve dusted off his guitar. They started writing songs for kids.

''Kids pay attention to characters,'' Steve says. ''We make our shows visually stimulating.''

Their music ranges from surf, swing and mariachi to what Steve calls ''heavy metal-esque.'' ''We make music fun,'' he says."

Revved Up & Ready To Rock! Video Librarian Review

Married performers Katie O'Sullivan-Borne (Princess Katie) and Steve Borne (Racer Steve) bring a quirky combo of fairy-tale ambience, puppets, skits, animation, and upbeat, positive music to this live concert for children.  Featuring Princess on vocals, Racer on guitar, "Crash" and "Space" on drums and bass, and a trio of "Merry Horn Players from the Woods, " the 10-song set in Revved Up *& Ready to Rock! includes the B-52's-style "Tell Them How You Feel" dealing with emotions, funk-based "Hot Shot" about making friends, "Hey Claire" on sharing, and the rock-ishi "Jeans!"  In addition to the tunes, the festivities include visits from puppet assistant West and dragon Peyton, dancing (two adults from the audience break into a spirited swing routine during "Holidays!"_, and clips of cartoon versions of the main duo.  The Bornes, who started out doing their routine for kids at hospitals across NYC, put on a cheerful, high-energy show that appears to be a real hit with the young audience.  DVD extras include a behind-the-scenes look at the band and a "Jeans!" animated music video.  Recommended.
